Maximilian Weihe  |  Managing Director

Selecta Systems have long been known for being independently and family owned, speaking frequently of the Selecta ‘family’ and the promotion of the #bepartofthefamily message. Selecta are now in the third generation of Weihe leadership, with Maximilian Weihe at the helm.

Appointed Managing Director in 2017, and following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather was a proud moment for Max. "Being able to continue the family connection, whilst maintaining stability and solidarity within the business was of paramount importance in following on the Weihe legacy at Selecta. Hence, why we are here 40 years later, which is a great testament to those before me and the longstanding and established team that we have here at Selecta."

Andy started at Selecta way back in the early 1990's and has seen Selecta go from strength-to-strength. With many years of fabrication, technical and sales experience and knowledge, Andy was appointed Sales Director in 2016, leading a strong team of Business Development Managers, whilst providing invaluable support and knowledge to all our customers.

MARIA ASTLEY

SALES ADMINISTRATOR

Maria joined the Selecta family back in 1999, having worked with Lorraine (Credit Control Manager) at another profile systems supplier that went in to liquidation. Her role sees Maria processing customers orders and dealing with customer enquiries, whilst also providing valuable additional account management support.

In Memory of Dave Nelson

It is with great sadness that Selecta Systems announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague Dave Nelson. After a long and inspirational battle with illness, Dave passed away peacefully on Wednesday 28th February 2024 with his beloved family at his side.
Dave joined Selecta in February 2016 as a Business Development Manager, or “number one sales rep” as Dave would often refer to himself. It was this kind of humour that saw Dave quickly became a likeable and valuable member of the Selecta family, building up an excellent rapport with staff, customers and industry colleagues.
He had already built up an excellent relationship with a number of our team prior to his employment having been a longstanding employee of one of our customers, Goldstar Trade Frames. With his employment at Selecta, Dave brought a wealth of fabrication and industry experience, complimented with his infectious personality and humour.
Sales Director Andy Green and General Manager Bob Heeley, often referred to by Dave as his “work dad”, led the tributes to the popular Business Development Manager. “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague. His friendly and approachable personality made him a very popular figure with all who met him.”
“We have not just lost an experienced and valuable member of our team, but also a friend and integral part of our Selecta family. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his wife Sarah and children, Tyler and Demi at this extremely difficult time. We also extend our thoughts to family, friends and all who had the pleasure of meeting Dave. He will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by all.”

CLIFF PROSSER

TECHNICAL MANAGER

Cliff joined as Technical Manager in September 2019 having already spent 35+ years in the industry. Having worked for some large fabricators during this time, he brings fabrication, installation and techincal skills to the department and business.

KEVIN MASCALL

TECHNICAL ENGINEER

Kevin has a wealth of fabrication and industry experience and knowledge having joined Selecta in 2006. Serving the south of the UK, Kevin has built up an excellent relationship with his customer base, providing that on-hand personal technical support of which Selecta prides itself on. Kevin’s tremendous product knowledge and caring nature work well alongside his regular technical duties when servicing new and existing customers technical requirements.

MARK ROBERTS

PURCHASING & STOCK CONTROL MANAGER / CUSTOMER SERVICE

Mark is one of the longstanding members of Selecta, having joined in 1994. Mark's role sees him managing all stocked products within the business, whilst being responsible for purchasing and sourcing products. He also manages customers complaints, liaising between the customer and departments.

DAN COTON

LAMINATION MANAGER

Dan is one of a number of employees who are now in their second spell at Selecta, clocking up over a decade of service. Recently promoted to Lamination Manager, from his supervisor role, Dan manages the everyday running of the lamination department, having originally started as young, fresh-faced boy on the end of the foiling line back in 2009. Dan comments, “I was grateful for the opportunity to return to the business back in 2016 and as they say, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side! I would say that being part of the ‘family’ again was definitely a big factor in returning to Selecta.” There have been a number of developments and investments within the lamination area over the last few years, with further planned. “Investment in new high-tech foiling machines has improved output volume and quality, whilst the variations in new colour options have certainly made coloured profiles a must have for a lot of fabricators, installers and homeowners.”

PAUL LUTWYCHE

MIXING PLANT MANAGER

The material mixing plant was built and installed in 2008 with Paul Lutwyche approached to join the business, project manage the installation, set-up the required supply chains and oversee the running of the department. Responsible for ‘mixing’ the Selecta PVCu blend, to our specific ingredient requirements, Paul has been instrumental in the management and development of the mixing plant. In the early days Paul handled the transition of lead based raw materials to calcium zinc with his latest project, overseeing the expansion of the department with new storage silos.

CARL HILLMAN

EXTRUSION QUALITY CONTROL

Carl is now in his second spell at Selecta and another member of staff with many years of service. He was initially a machine operator within the extrusion, where upon his return was promoted to Head of Quality Control.

BOB HEELEY

GENERAL MANAGER

Bob joined Selecta in early 2007, taking on the role of General Manager and having responsibility for all business operations. Bob has an experienced and knowledgeable team of managers at his disposal, as he ensures that all site operations are running efficiently and effectively.

Gayle joined the Selecta family back in 2001, after leaving her previous role at a photo processing company (she obviously didn't like how her role was developing and pictured herself working in the window and door industry!). Her role sees Gayle processing customers orders and handling queries, whilst also providing valuable additional account management support.

RICHARD REEVES

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Richard joined the Selecta family in 2018 as Business Development Manager for central UK. Richard has over 18 years experience within the industry having joined from a window and door machinery company. His industry knowledge, experience and contacts are invaluable to his and Selecta's success!

MARK WALKER

MARKETING MANAGER

Mark's association with Selecta spans three decades, originally beginning his journey at Selecta in 1993 and working his way through the ranks, from shop floor to management. Having left the business at the end of 2006 to go self-employed, Mark was retained as an external consultant to Selecta, before returning to a full time role in 2011. He was appointed Marketing Manager in 2014 and is responsible for graphic design, copy writing and everything to do with marketing within Selecta!

MICHELE STATHAM

TECHNICAL CO-ORDINATOR

Michele joined Selecta in 2017 after 27 years at her previous employers.Having started in a marketing and customer support role, Michele moved in to the technical department in at the beginning of 2020. Her role sees her handle administration duties for the technical department, which includes supporting and coordinating our field technicians. Michele is responsible for the technical team’s diary, tool purchases and stock control, new customer start-ups, which involves everything that ensures a smooth transition from a previous system or a new factory set-up.

Craig joined the Selecta family in February 2024 having spent all of his career in the window and door industry.

VICKI RADBURN

PURCHASING & STOCK CONTROL ADMINISTRATOR / CUSTOMER SERVICE

Vicki has been with Selecta since 2013 and was part of the READY-2-FIT department as Specialist Doors Administrator. She was appointed Purchasing & Stock Control Administrator in May 2022 and brings experience and knowledge of Selecta to the role.

KEVIN SMITH

EXTRUSION MANAGER

Kevin was one of the original starters when we opened the extrusion plant in 1995, having spent many years in extrusion. Having joined as a machine operator, Kevin was promoted to shift leader before eventually being offered the role as Extrusion Manager in 2009. Kevin's role see's him have overall responsibility for production and management of the extrusion.

STEVE McCLELLAND

TOOLING MANAGER

Tooling Manager, Steve, joined the Selecta family in 2009. Having spent the previous six years with Greiner, Steve was given the task of managing the tool room, tooling design and maintenance, whilst also assisting in the research and development of products. Steve has been able to take an initial product idea, draw and create a 3D printed models to enable product concepts to come to life and eventually to production. Responsible for ordering the tooling, Steve also oversees the management of all of our product dies and tools, to ensure that they are in tip top condition and ready for when the next production run is planned.

One of the first people you speak to when you call Selecta is Nikki. Nikki will direct you to the right member of staff or department!

MARIA LAWRENCE

GENERAL OFFICE DIRECTOR

Maria started with Selecta way back in 1986 and is one of the longest serving members of staff. Maria's role sees her oversee all sales order and accounts operations, providing valuable knowledge and experience to the department.

Lorraine started at Selecta back in 1999, after her previous profile system employer went in to liquidation (she's adamant that it wasn't anything to do with her!). She is responsible for managing customer payments and accounts, which includes any queries and also vetting new accounts upon set-up.

Danielle joined the Selecta family in July 2023. Having worked as an Office Administrator at a local window and door fabrication company, Danielle saw Selecta and the role as the perfect opportunity to develop her skills.

DEAN TAYLOR

TECHNICAL SUPPORT MANAGER

Dean is another longstanding member of staff, who is also in his second spell at Selecta (although he only left for 3 months!) His experience in fabrication, having managed the specialist doors department, has seen him become part of the research and development team, whilst also providing valuable technical support to customers. Dean works closely with the technical department on testing and new product development.

KEVIN CLARK RE

SENIOR TECHNICAL EXECUTIVE

Kevin joined Selecta in 1990, which makes the senior technical engineer one of our longest serving employees. In fact his association with Selecta goes back further than that! “I worked for a large Selecta customer as production manager,” he said. “I was one Selecta’s first customers, being set-up by Hans Pichtsmeyer back in 1982, so you can say I was part of the family way back when it all started!” Kevin, who has always held a technical role at Selecta and comments, “I have seen a wealth of changes over the years. For example: externally glazed systems becoming internally glazed, cockspur handles becoming espags, then shootbolts and frame depths increasing from 60mm to 70mm and now 80mm. Then there’s the regulatory changes that have made the industry more professional, a long way from 80’s white gold image. I’m proud to have been part of a business that has gone from strength-to-strength over the years.” Today, you’ll find Kevin keeping customers up to date with all aspects of the business, while overseeing machinery repairs, fault finding missions and product training.

WAREHOUSE & LOGISTICS MANAGER

Lee is another employee who is in their second spell at the company. He has worked within lamination, the picking warehouse and the trade counter, before moving in to the purchasing and stock control department. Lee also gained experience within warehouse and logisitics and was promoted to Warehouse & Logistics Manager in May 2022.

CHRIS ADDIS

WAREHOUSE & DISTRIBUTION ADMINISTRATOR

Chris joined the Selecta family in 2010 initially working within the warehouse and stores. Progression saw Chris move in to the Warehouse & Distribution Administration role, where he is responsible for co-ordinating all the relevant customer orders for picking and distribution.

Simon is in his second spell at Selecta having originally worked in the lamination and READY-2-FIT departments. Simons role sees him interacting with customers on a daily basis and processing customer collections.
